Took 500 dollar deposit toward loan promised but never given

I was promised I was qualified for a loan and just had to pay a deposit to get the appraisal which would not cost me and would be applied toward the loan but they did 2 appraisals and never made my loan. I am out 500 dollars for nothing and would recommend no one to do business with these liars.
