Taking too long to avoid foreclosure

My wife and I started to fall behind on our mortgage payments. We were almost two months behind when I called for financial assistance. They took down the info needed and said someone will be in contact with us. Our time where we were considered default on the loan was two weeks away from the date which was Dec 31st that I called.

I called numerous times to see if they could help or not and I was told that it would take any where from 6-8 weeks before a decision could be made. Unfortunately were still unable to make the payments. When I finally got through with someone again, they told me that we were denied the assistance. They told me why but for some reason I can't remember. Something about the some company whoever it was on the loan like the PMI part does not have the any assistance program.

The lady that I talked to said that we would receive something in the mail about the decision which was made on Feb 8th, but to this date we have not received any letter. The lady also said that she would try and do a loan modification. She also said that it was not guaranteed that she could do it. Now it has been almost three weeks and still i do not have an answer on it. I called about 5-6 times to them for this and nothing. The lady did call back but just left a number to call back.

I called back and still have not talked to this lady since the first time i spoke with her. I was told that it needed a supvisor's approval for it. I even left a message with the supervisor and he hasn't even called back.

As of this date we are now 5 months behind and do not have the resources to make the amends. I am contemplating about contacting an outside company to help with this. If I can't get through how would thye and if they can then why can't my mortgage company contact me and do the same.

Is it that they want to foreclose on us? I am not getting any response back from the mortgage. And when I do call it seems like no one else will say, well why don't I just handle this and see about getting it done. All that is happening is just emails going back and forth and no one contacting me.

Once again, I will probably be foreclosing on a house and with the mortgage company doing nothing to help. My mortgage payment went up $350 a month due to buying the house from my sister. Plus adding two car payments doesn't help.
