Chase, excessive fees just waiting for you

I have been with Chase since they bought my bank. I guess 12-15 years. I have 4 bank accounts and 5 credit cards. I use each card for specific purposes. One card I use only for fuel purchaces. I always pay ontime altho sometimes at the due date, and I pay them off in full. My last bill was due on feb 8th. I was dropping it off at the local branch on feb 7th. Feb 7th is a thur, 8th is a friday. The drivethru was packed so I put payment in depository. This should have been credited to my account the next day, the due date.

My next month bill had a 39.00 late charge and additional interest added. When I called to question this, the curt reply was, you were late in paying so you were charged. When I explained that I dropped it on thur to make the fri deadline I was told accounts are never credited the same day they are paid. So in my case the next business day was monday, the 11th.

In a very, too bad its your fault tone, I was told the late charge stands and nothing will be done. I said just cancel this card, to which she replied, thats not a problem, thank you for doing business with Chase

Well Chase, congratulations, you made 39.00 off me on a 200.00 credit card balance. Next week I will be cancelling my other 4 cards and within 2 weeks I'll have closed my other accounts. Obviously you care more about petty nuisance fees than retaining long term customers. But I guess thats my fault for not realizing sooner the level of customer care your corporation strives for.

I just retired and the branch mgr has been asking almost weekly about my 401k and would I consider transfering it to them. Guess who the last institution is I will allow to handle my money. I would have been paying over 2,000.00 per year for you to manage this account. So your 39.00 late fee is nothing but chump change.
Some day you will screw up way too many people and they will react just as I am.
So long Chase, you ain't the only game in town.
