Fishing for a sucker - don't bite

Business & Finance

We do not have any debt, and check all our credit cards and bank accounts regularly online. So when my husband got a recorded message about a debt collection situation from the Law Office of Mitchell N. Kay, we were concerned, but decided not to respond. A genuine debt collection request should first come in a registered letter (my husband is an attorney) so we decided not to do anything unless we got a letter. But I made a note of the date we got the call.

Four weeks later, we got another recorded call. I made a note of the date, but we didn't respond.

We continued to get recorded calls every 4 weeks - to the day - for six months. Then the calls stopped. We have not received a call for four months. I think this organization has given up on us. Clearly they were looking for a sucker to take their bait. Since we didn't bite, they gave up.
