Chech scam

We had a customer come in with a check drawn on US Bank 1-877-314-5914 (not a US Bank number) and wanted to cash a check for $4860.00. We tried to verify the check by calling the bank. This is definitely a SCAM. The customer also brought in a letter telling her that she had a received a grant for $39,000 that did not have to be repaid. They wanted her to cash the check and send them "taxes" due by way of MoneyGram.
