Letter Offers 50 Percent Settlement of Unrecognized $184.67 Debt

Just like other reports on here about this same issue, I received a letter that seems very suspicious. I have never heard of CBCS or Resurgent Capital Services, both of these seem to be collection agencies.

The letter is asking to settle a debt for 50% of the balance. I don't know where this bill came from. They claim my current balance is $184.67 and want to settle for $92.34.

I watch my credit VERY carefully, I'm trying to increase my credit score so I can refinance my home and I pay all my bills on time. I don't think this is a legitimate charge. Will have to do some investigating. I will write back to them disputing the charges, unless they provide proof, I won't pay them a penny.

If you receive the same letter, be careful, it looks like a scam!
