Withdrew money from my back account after I withdrew from their program

Well, I am very overwhelmed with debt so I thought a debt settlement company would be the best way to go. Wrong! I hadn't even made my first payment to this company and Discover forwarded my account to a law firm even though it wasn't past due at the time. I was able to convince Discover to recall my account from the law firm and I faxed a letter to the debt settlement company more than 10 business days before my payment date to withdraw from their program and they still withdrew money from my bank account even though my documents from them stated if a letter was faxed at least 10 business days before the payment due date, money would not be withdrawn from my bank account.

I ended up filing a dispute with my bank and the money was returned to me. Remember, if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Debt Settlement is NOT the way to go, at least it wasn't for me. I wanted my stress to be lessened and, instead, it increased tenfold.
