Fifth Third Bank
Won't honor credit card settlement

After we agreed to settled a credit card debt that was in dispute, Fifth Third withdrew the funds from our bank account directly, the account was closed and we thought "good riddance" to Fifth Third Bank. But, oh no! They keep sending us a monthly statement claiming we still owe the interest on the card. I explained to Mr. Anonymous Banker that the interest and all fees were dropped per our settlement.

Fifth Third will not abide by their own settlement! They were supposed to send a final settlement notice, but never did. Now, they refuse to tell me the name of the person who made the settlement in their credit dept. I said the conversation was recorded, so listen to the deal on tape. They refuse to do anything to set the record straight and continue to add fees and interest to a closed account. What is the deal with these people? Fifth Third is the most ethically challenged bank I've every known. They are criminals in suits.
