They take money one month, and continue even AFTER you cancel! Chicago Illinois

Business & Finance

MY husband also signed up for PrivacyMatters123 almost a year ago and we were also charged $1 plus $30.

I called and cancelled when he realized what happened. We did NOT ask for our money back because we figured this is what he gets for signing up to unknown sites.

Then, just this morning, I look at my bank statement online and find that a savingsmart.com has removed a dollar from our account. We are currently having financial problems and so that ONE dollar cause us to be overdrawn and gave us a $32 fee to pay to the bank!

Luckily there was a phone number included; I called the number and the SECOND option is to cancel. To cancel you need your member number.

I had to hang up, call again, and choose option one to get my member number. The computer spoke it as fast as it could, which, for some who are not as light-fingered as I, could have caused me to miss a number or two or even get it wrong.

I went online to research them, which is how I ended up here.

I have had to file a claim with my bank to get my $33 back, and they have offered to cut off my husband's card, since, the bank says, they are unable to truly track this company because they do this every 6 to 9 months to their victims, and by different names.

WE are safe now — but I had to let others know so that they can learn from my husband's mistake!
