Jake Miller is driving me crazy

ERSI started calling me about a debt to SEARS from 20 years ago. About 15 years ago, I made a deal with what I am guessing is a similar type BS collection agency to whom Sears had sold the debt. If I remember correctly, probably 50 cents on the dollar. If I kept it, somewhere, somewhere (!), is written proof of this.

Jake thinks I should send him this documentation, because he thinks it is up to me to prove to him that I don't owe Sears anymore. I told him to perform unnatural acts on him mom, but he seems unwilling. I don't see why not, everyone else has. ;-) Anyway, I had always thought that all you had to do was tell them not to call you anymore and they had to stop. Apparently I have to send a certified, return receipt letter demanding he cease and desist calling me.

It is very upsetting. He threatened to call my work. I snapped up every bait — arrrgggh! I called a lawyer.

They aren't even a real collection agency - they buy up these names and try to bully people into paying even though they have no way to force anyone to pay.
They can't report to the credit bureaus.

"ERSI does not report delinquent accounts to any of the three credit bureaus. However, we typically will make inquires to the credit bureaus to obtain location information and credit information. Sometimes these inquiries may show up on your credit report and may affect your credit score. We've listed the three major credit bureau web sites below for your convenience."

I did complain to the FTC and the Illinois attorney general. I guess I will complain again due to the new call.
