Branch Banking And Trust, BB&T
Consistently finds ways to swindel customers' money

Business & Finance

I've been banking with Branch Banking and Trust Company for years now. However, in the last three years or so, the company has gone straight downhill. BB&T is consistently inventing new ways to take my money. First, there was a "double tap" for foreign ATM fees. This is especially frustrating since there are so few ATMs. I had to pay the ATM, then BB&T charged me the same amount again. A trip to the ATM to withdraw $20.00 easily turns into a $25.00 hit on my account.

One of the newest ways to take their customers' money is to charge a $2.00 fee for speaking with a customer service representative. $2.00 to talk to a person? The worst part of banking with BB&T is their lack of communication with their customers. It seems as if I'm always the one calling them asking where charges are coming from and when these new "policies" became effective. I can not stand this bank, and I strongly discourage anyone from banking with them. I've had nothing but problems and headaches in the last three years from banking with BB&T. I am closing my account this weekend.
