Prior to tonight, I had not had any really serious problem with this company. But the attitude and complete unprofessional conduct of the people I talked to tonight warrant this report and more.

I have been making my payments to this company by Western Union on the last working Thursday of every month since they purchased my loan from Ames Funding. Prior to that, the payment to Ames had been made in the exact same fashion for several months. So they knew my situation from the day they bought my loan.

I have received a call from one of their reps every month, and until tonight, all of them have told me up front that they see my history, and just need to confirm that my payment will be made as usual. I of course assure them that it will, I make the payment (including late fees of course), and that has been it.

But tonight, this company has crossed the line. The rep that called would not stop his speel about this being an attempt to collect a debt, etc. (it was obvious he was reading from a script, and was having a little trouble with the words), so I could tell him (politely) the same thing I have told all the others.

He simply refused to listen. And stated that if I was not delinquent on my payments, that I would not receive any calls. When I attempted to explain to him the definition of delinquent (universally considered at least 30 days late by every other mortgage company in the business), and I must add here that the payment has NEVER been 30 days late; he became loud, and said he needed to ax (sic) me a question.

He proceeded to ax (sic) me why my payment was late. When I told him to just look at his records, that the reason had not changed in over 2 years, he told me that he would not look at any records, he just wanted to know why I was late.

Anyway, it went downhill from there. I got louder than he did, and asked to talk to his supervisor, who turned out to be a woman who basically asked me over and over if I was through yelling now (I wasn't yelling, I was just being louder than her in hopes that she would listen), and who refused to look at my record to confirm that what I was saying was true, and who simply asked over and over why may payment was late.

After reading the many other reports, it is obvious that this company does not care about anything but collecting their money, in any way they can. And some of their telephone people have a real problem, not only with speaking English properly, but just with dealing with people politely and respectfully.

For what it is worth, I am trying to refinance to not only get a lower rate, but just to get away from this company that I did not choose to start with. I just fear that I will face the same problem that others have... incorrect reports to the credit bureaus. I will know soon.
