Cornerstone America
I'm looking for an opportunity... Could this be it, or am I fooling myself?

I've just about had it with the sort of work I've been doing for the past 25 years... Retailing home-improvement and remodeling products. I work for a Big Box, and their claims closely mimic some of those that were presented at my interview with Cornerstone. From curiosity, I searched "Cornerstone America" and eventually found my way to usacomplaints. Coms.com. I've read many of the posts and responses, and the only thing that's enjoyed any clarification at all is my sense that I really need to be rather circumspect before engaging in a relationship with this company.

The agent is friendly enough and seems like a good man, and his assistant also appears to be quite capable. Two small things that raise warning flags for me are:
(1) the office is in a rather nice (restored?) building, but everything seems to be in boxes... When I call in, I seem to get the fax machine as often as not. But this is the lesser issue.
(2) 411 information has no listing for the agent (except an unlisted number) or for Cornerstone America.

Call me petty, but little stuff like that bothers me. I've bought into dog-and-pony-shows that bear resemblance to this before, and I'd rather not go through it again. $292.00 for application processing plus $150.00 for a background check... And not an awful lot of info about how things work. Yes, I AM interested, but I know that people like me are often viewed as fish in a fish bowl... And I don't really want to feel that hook set.
