Has anyone ever done anything? California

My fiance is a victim of Cash Call's predatory lending and I was just wondering if anyone has tried taking any legal action against them? It is a shame that consumers become so desperate that they make such bad decisions like borrowing from a company like Cash Call, but aren't there laws that protect the uneducated and the desperate? This company was misleading over the phone and told her that she would not be charged the 90% interest rate unless she defaulted on the loan. She has been paying the usual $250 a month for a $2400 loan for the past year and now owes $2700.

We also called to try and negotiate a pay off with them. They said they can not negotiate. I read that an article that said creditors must negotiate. Does anyone know if this is true?

I am going to contact a lawyer and try to get some sort of class action suit against Cash Call. Has anyone tried this before and who else is in?
