Wells Fargo
Wells really should be cited under the RICO statute

Business & Finance

I used to support Wells... Until I learned about a very disturbing policy that they have.

They will not suspend or close an account that has fraudulent transactions. I'm referring to the banking (checking, savings).

There is a savings account that had some fraudsters who got ahold of the check information and started debiting the account. Fortunately I had all of $5 in there at the time, but of course Wells was honoring checks all the way up to $200. Then they started the overdraft fees. $35 the first time, $5/day thereafter. Then they started rejecting the transactions. $30 bounced check fee for each one. This went on for a number of days until I got a letter from Wells saying I owed $200. Err? On an account I requested be closed days ago?"Sorry, we can't close the account on a negative balance". Apparently, the account was a whopping $. 35 overdrawn when I called the first time. Yes, 35 cents. And they refuse to close it.

To this day (That was a month ago), they continue to let these jokers keep applying fees to my account, and I can't stop it. The account is now up to $800.in my opinion that's racketeering.

That's not all. Oh, there's more. I had a credit card with Wells - secured card. $1200 credit line. I decided to close the card. The Terms explicitly state that all of the money in the collateral account will be released when you close the card. The balance was $1154 - enough to cover one more monthly payment plus some change. When Wells closed the card, they only released $1154 and left the rest in collateral. Then a payment came due somehow (On a CLOSED account!), I never got a bill (since the account was CLOSED I no longer had access to it), then out of the blue I get a late letter saying I owe $100 - $40 for the payment, $60 in fees. Err? THEN they released the other $46 AFTER applying the fees.

Now had they released the whole $1200, the payment would have been covered, no fees would have applied, and I'd have my $6 back, but they withheld that little amount so they could get more out of me. Racketeering.

Please... Please do not bank at Wells. Go to Citibank.
