Credit Card Scam & Ripoff consumer fraud ripoff

An individual named Frank Oper #8508 contacted me via telephone stating that he was a representative of the Beneficial Corp. He then proceeded to ask me if I would be interested in obtaining an unsecured credit card with a $3,500.00 credit limit for a one time regristration fee of $247.00.

The person also said that I would also be recieving a Hewlett Packard computer as a signing bonus if I signed up that day. He also said that as an extra bonus I would recieve 1yr. Of free legal svcs. He then assigned me a customer ID# and gave me an cust. Svc.# 1-866-999-0330. I was told at that time to allow 3 to 4 wks. For delivery of the card and 5 to 6 wks for the computer.

Whenever I called this telephone number I heard a recording stating that all customer care operators where busy and I would be transfered to a voice message box. When I was transfered to that mess. Box and recieved another message stating that the mess. Box was full. At that point I recieved a message in French and at the end of that message my call was terminated.
