Charged 33 bucks for a 0.02 cent overdraft AND sent check back!

Well, I think the title of my message says it all... I was 2 cents off on my balance, and 5/3 Bank returned my check and charged me 33 dollars. I was told by customer service that I qualified for a "courtesy waiver, " but to call back the next day, after the charge posted.

I called, got a different customer service rep, who told me the other rep must not have seen the note on - i guess my personal record - which said the waiver had to be cleared by my branch. So. For a 2-cent mistake, they charged me 33 dollars. I'm a single parent and could have definitely used the 33 dollars I had to find as fast as I could to avoid the other charges they love to heap on top of the overdraft charge. I think there should definitely be a class-action suit.

This bank has no conscience and does not at all mind taking food out of the average joe's mouth to build profit. Most of the time, I have found their own reps are not sure of 5/3's banking policies and rules. Most probably, this is because as soon as the customers catch on to the new rules, they stop making so much in fees and, thus, change the rules again.
