A couple of months ago, I received a letter from Reoples Credit First, indicating that I qualified for a platinum card. For only $47.00 or $49.00, I could receive the Platinum card that I "qualified" for. Well, a few days ago, I received a half-inch think package from Peoples Credit First. It contained a catalog, ordering information and a silver card with my name on it and the word "platinum." Upon further reading, I find out that the $49.00 I spent to receive a "platinum card" is only good towards a mailing catalog! When I signed that letter and sent in my payment, no where on that one page letter did it say anything about the card not being a real credit card, or that the card that I would receive would only be good towards their products.in fact, the letter even had the same mumbo jumbo that valid credit card applications have. For example, "No interest for 12 months" and "14% APR." It even asks for a social security number. I feel that this company was dishonestly misleading and owes me and everyone else a refund. At the very least, they should be legally obligated to advertise the full extent of the cards use, or take the title "CREDIT" out of their name.
