Merrick Bank
Took $898.85 out of my checking account without authorization

On June 22 I was checking mt online banking information and it showed that $898.85 was taken out of my account on June 20 and I only had about $100.00 in my account and the bank charged me an overdraft penelty.

I then went to log onto Merrickbank.com and it said that my user name or password were incorrect, so I changed it and was able to view my Merrickbank Credit card information and they sais that I made a payment of $898.85 on June 20 which I did not do and asked them to prove to me that I authorized this and they said that they couldn't. On june 20 I went to log on to Merrickbank.com and it said that my user name or password were incorrect and I got locked out and had to call them to reset it and this is all I did on June 20.

I went to log on this AM (June 22) and it did the same thing that my user name and / or password were incorrect and called Merrick Bank. They told me that I must have authorized it as it couldn't be done by them and I told them to prove to me that I authorized this transaction and they said they could.

Merrick Bank took money out of my checking account without my authorization and I told them they commited or broke the law. They stated there was nothing they could do and I expressed to them that they would not be getting the $898.85 payment because I only had a little over $100.00 in my checking. They also told me that I had an impending charge from Goole for $470 and change that was transactioned this am at 06:30 AM and I was not on the computer at this time and never made a purchase. I told the Supervisor of Customer Relations that the problem had to be with their system since I kept having to change my password and they said there was no way that they could contact technical support to see if there was a problem.

Bottom line is they (Merrick Bank) took money, that I didn't have, out of my checking account without my authorization and they have no way to prove that I actually made this payment. So now I have an overdraft on my checking because of them and I do not have that kind of money to payoff that account, nor did I but something on Google for $470 plus. They refused to turn it over to technical support to see if they do in deed have a problem.
