Sent me a FAKE check and told me to cash it! Ripoff

Business & Finance

I too was sent a fradulent check in the amount of $2,985.45. I was told in the letter that came with the check that I was a winner in a North America Prize Pool.

The drawing was on Monday, April 16th. My total winnings were $250,000 in US funds. The check was to cover administrative and clearance fees for my "winnings".

I was to call a Cynthia Woods before going to the bank. I tried calling this Cynthia Woods but got no answer... Hmmm. I wonder why. That's when in decided to google the company and it brought me to this site.

It struck me as odd that the envelope didn't have the financial group name on it. The stamp was from Canada not from New Jersey like the letterhead stated. And the check itself had "void" written all over it very lightly. It can't even be seen. So it looks like a real check.

Thank God for complaint
