Ripoff put me on collections for owing $890 how where? I dont know? Now its on my credit report and i have to pay off!

I reported to ft. Lewis, wa right after basic training... I got verizon thinking it was a pretty good company. Well, after my contract and paying off my last bill, i started getting collection bills saying i owe $890.00... I called many times and they said i need to pay that, even though they had no explanation for it! They also put it on my credit report so now im having to pay $200 a month for 4 1/2 months to pay it off cuz they screwed my credit up. Thanks verizon. Afni! Such a scam
