Ripoff Check and Merchant Services SCAMMERS!

I was initially contacted my Check and Merchant Services about 1 month ago, although they claim that they sent something prior to that which I never received. They claim that I owed $355 for a check that was written to a company back in 1998. I had no recollection of this check nor was ever notfied by my bank of such transaction, so I contacted them and asked them to send proof of the check to me via fax or mail. They said that they could not do so and that their legal department had it. I asked them if I could speak to someone in their legal department or if the y had a phone number for this legal department and they said not o both questions. Of course they told me that they would have a warrant issued for my arrest for this so-called check that I wrote that they could not provide proof of. I refused to pay them because they could not provide proof and I don't recall writing a check to whom they said I wrote one to. I think these people are scam artists and if anyone is contacted by them, DO NOT pay them because I know they are scammers!
