Payments against debt were cashed and then responded to with a threatening letter. Ripoff

Due to divorce and my husband's ex wife stealing money from his 401k and keeping all proceeds from the sale of their home, he was left broke with all bills to pay alone, while she fled to CA to carry on an affair with her boyfriend.

Despite court orders for the ex to pay off debts, my husband contacted all creditors in an attempt to make payment arrangements as soon as he could. He knew there were debt collectors out there, like Merchants Credit Association, who would try to ruin him, just like his ex did. They don't care about people. They care about money and take advantage of other peoples' crisis.

MCA took every payment we made, then responded with nasty letters demanding payment in full. This was after they already filed a collections report against my husband's credit report so what incentive would he have to pay? These people aren't even smart business people. EVERYONE knows the statitics; work with someone and you're going to get more money. I collect on deliquent accounts myself and I get my money! Treat people like dirt, with no incentive and minimal results are likely.

My husband made multiple payments. The last one paid 1/4 of the full bill and was still responded to with a nasty and threatening letter.

It was signed by Ms. Patricks, X-103, who according to my husband's recollection of their phone conversations, treated him like he was a terrorist, not a US citizen, trying to take responsibility for the actions of his ex wife. According to MCA and the likes of collectors like Ms. Patricks, good people simply do not exist, all deserve to be treated like scum, and money is the goal at exactly 12%!!
