Startup Essentials - A-1 Leasing
Ripoff Miisrepresentative fraudulent dishonest the works

Business & Finance

Received multiple calls from this company, Startup Essentials. One representative called me and said that my credit was good, but I didn't have a credit card over $6000, so I wasn't elligible.

Boy do I wish that is where it ended. I received another phone call a day later from a different representative at the SAME company. This time, she showed the same concern as the first, but she would "work with me". After a long conversation about the business and "if you want something different, you have to do something different", she finally convinced (or hyptnotized) me into joining the program.

The interviewer kept making me laugh, I see now this may be a way of keeping your mind just a little bit off while theyre speeding through all the information.

I finally get to a page that wants me to write out my signature with the mouse... So I did. Little did I know, on the next page, my signature had been electronically imposed into 14 seperate boxes. Boxes I had not even read yet.

I go through about 4 people on the phone before I get to a lady who has me reciting from a web page, practically negating them of all responsibility. The woman made me speedily read through the statements without thinking. Anytime I wanted to take a moment and read, she would say "are you there", "is there a problem", so I just kept on reading.

Stupid me! By this time, it is too late. I am enrolled in the program. Three years at 139.99 per month. (Glad I didn't opt for the laptop!) Realizing the mistake I had just made, I hastily called the customer support number (after 20 minutes of waiting) and spoke to a gentleman.

He himeself even said that he had been with the company since 2001 and had yet to get his own website up!!! Then he goes on telling me how Usa Consumer Complaints.com is the toilet of the internet and the only people writing there are the lazy ones who don't want to work!

He did not convince me at all that this was a good program, but made sure that I knew that I had signed a contract that was uncancellable contrac! Even though I had JUST SIGNED UP!!!

I am very upset with myself... I didn't come here first! I hope that others read this before pouncing on the "opportunity".

Steps I have taken to remedy this situation:
1.) Contacted my bank
2.) Contacted Startup Essentials with my intentions
3.) Decided to send back the package unopened
4.) Contacted the BBB and issued a complaint
5.) Contacted the FTC and issued a complaint
6.) Contacted the Louisiana Attorney General and issued a complaint
7.) Contacted the Dallas Attorney General and issued a complaint
8.) Purchased all three of my credit reports and found out that USA Card Services obtained my Credit information without asking... 8 days before contacting me.
9.) Disputing the inquiries with TransUnion
10.) Prayed (seriously)

I will keep you completely updated with how this works out.
