RIPOFF False Collection from ATT accounts that never existed

I have been getting letter that I owe money from them through my ATT account. I asked them if they can provide me with further information about the bill or money I owe from ATT. They said they only have the amount I owe since they only bought the account from ATT. If you tell them that you would contact ATT, they would say that ATT won't be able to help you and give any further details since it was closed already and transferred to their collection agency. After all of the questions about the history of the account, I finally told them I never had an ATT account and from that point they started getting rude and threatening me that how much they would mess up my credit report. I get this letter about 1-2 times per year and every time I call they have the same story and wouldn't be able to verify the validity of the account. I want to know how can we stop this people which is very irritating and annoying trying to scam to people who is trying to earn an honest living. Oh by the way, if you listen to the background around the person you're talking to, it doesnt look like they're on an office setting and it seems like they are at home so somehow this toll free number is more like a forwarding number to this very nasty and rude people. How can we stop this ALLIED INTERSTATE, this is not funny anymore
