USA Credit Recovery, Ficka & Associates, William Ficka Committed FDCPA Violations In An Attempt To Collect A Fraudulent And Non-Existent Debt For A Foreign Fraudulent Business

Business & Finance

USA Credit Recovery, (aka) Ficka & Associates, (aka) William Ficka is attempting to use illegal "strong-arm" tactics to recover a fraudulent debt for a fraudulent foreign business.

The story starts with me selling 2000 Roman coins to a place known as The Balkans Museum in England. The buyer paid for them using PayPal. The person who paid for them was not the name of the person who had contacted me to make the purchase.

I sent the coins by insured USPS Express Mail with an Internet tracking number. You can input the tracking number at any time and see where the package is at in the mail system. The "museum curator" emails me after only a few days and claims the coins are lost in the mail and asks me to refund all his money.

I replied that the tracking number states the coins are still en-route. He replies that he thinks they're lost and wants a refund anyway and will send the coins back "if" they arrive. Several days later the coins arrive - and he has to sign for them. As I suspected, the person who signed for them is the person who contacted me but not the name on the account they were paid for.

The next day the "museum curator" claims the coins are not as advertised and wants a full refund, and will send the coins back after receiving a refund. This isn't how refunds work, and we all know that!

After doing some research, the address for The Balkans Museum is a 2-bedroom house, listed with the County of Kent, UK (England) as a residence occupied by a family of 4. The Balkans Museum only exists as a website that sells Roman coins, including supposed "gold Roman coins" for 39.99. The most common and low-grade gold Roman coins sell for $400 and up. An obvious fraudulent advertisement - only confirming my suspicions.

After a week of spamming my email address, threats of blackmail, etc. The guy contacts USA Credit Recovery, (aka) Ficka & Associates, (aka) William Ficka. This so-called debt collection agency sends me a letter threatening the usual action if I don't pay them $4,000. I send them a letter with Return Receipt, stating I dispute the claim, please provide legal evidence of the claim, and please do not contact me further unless it's within that permitted under the FDCPA.

I also make them aware that I know William Ficka has a history of debt collection fraud and other charges in Texas and other states.

Ficka & Associates call me but I don't answer. One of their debt collection staff left a message on my voicemail stating Ficka & Associates are going to contact various third parties, informing them of my debt and tell them I'm being accused of fraud unless I pay up. If I understand the FDCPA correctly, this type of activity is VERY illegal. Not to mention sounding like blackmail.

More updates as this progresses.
