E-Phone promised Credit Crd w/$2500 limit, took $ from bank acct., no card as promised, not eligible for refund

Business & Finance

I was solicited by phone from a gentleman that said I am eligible for a $2500 credit card. This was around Christmas time 2001. My husband was just put out of work on medical leave (and still is, nearly 8 months later). I thought this card would help us get through until I could find additional employment. The company verified my information on the phone. Sounded very legitimate. They sent me a package in the mail. It had a form in it you fill out and send back for your card. I did so. I waited and waited. No card. I called and called and called. I was told they would put it on a list and send it to the company that issues the cards that my card must have been in with a group that got lost in Dec. They told me to give it 10 days. I call back, same story. Every time I call, the same story and the reason is, they want you to go past this 30-day period where you are not eligible for a refund any longer. I am told I cannot get my money back. I was also told that the credit card was NOT a credit card like the gentleman on the phone promised. It was a "stored" credit card. I have talked with very very rude people. They will not let you speak to anybody above a "floor supervisor", when i ask, they say they do not take calls. I insist and have to get quite ugly, still won't take my calls. When I ask for a phone number for the company who issues the cards, all they will give me is an address. No phone number. The address is no good. I have learned they are located in Florida, not at the Nevada address given. Beware. Once they get your $, that's all she wrote! They will continue to take $ out of your account. After they took $200 out of my account, another company E-Phone took another $50. My total loss as been $250 and LOTS of hours on the phone trying to get something accomplished by talking to these people. They are SCAMMERS! D. Mocksville, North Carolina
