Where we live and just purchased a home that was newly renovated.
We have only lived in the home since last Sept/99. The house was glistening clean new painted walls and freshly sanded old floors and woodwork. Our daughter has allergy's so it was perfect for her health clean air and no carpets.

The weather in the winter was very windy and caused our furnace to blow back blowing black soot every in our home we are truck drivers and we were away at the time and came home to the house covered in soot.

Immediately called our insurance and they were rude and condescending to us since the beginning getting worse as we had to depend on them to help us out and sort though this mess asking my wife to clean a bedroom herself and live in sub zero tempetures in the house sleeping a soot covered bed. She had to take time off of work several months and call all the contractors and get estimates on repairs of painting the walls and even hiring a paint inspector ERS Earl Stainton to inspect our home with professional equipment used in hospitals to detect the soot after our home has been so called cleaned Mr. Earle Stainton 519-686-5588 London Ontario inspection services, he found soot re-entering the home through the floor boards and baseboards recommending to be caulked and wall to be sealed and floors lightly sanded and soot sealed in the cracks.

These estimates were give to the adjuster Crawford Adjuster in London Ontario and Mike Koch he sent back a very low estimate back to us saying he did not believe what his meeting with the two inspectors found as this man hired a paint inspector that also agreed with our that the house needs to be properly cleaned again and work needs to be done immediately after with sealing the home.

Our daughter has had allergic reation to the soot and her friend who also visited our home recently. This insurance gave us a offer that barley covers the clean up and never mind all the other work to restore and clean our house to the original state. Now they want to cancel our policy with them when it is up for re-newal Sept 2/00 for reason that they are making up a lie about.

Please if there is any lawyers out there call us and fight for us as we would appreciate a lawyer that will dig his heels in against crimial Insurance Companies we have video taped meeting with inspector and video taped the damage and recorded conversation of rudness kept all copies of paper work and letter to Bel Air Direct etc. Etc.

Even other insurance company's are aware of this on going company and there practises. The Insurance Bureau of Canada has not been helpful and are saying they can't do anything to prevent these company's from ripping off the public so what good are they.

The Insurace Ombudsman in Toronto Ontario has not resulted in any success either. Just more running around and more letter writting they do nothing any more to help people resolve insurace claims., Hope this will help other fooled by there faulse advertisement Bel Air Direct has on the radio everyday.
