Added Hazard Insurance on a surrendered house Carol Streams

We had loan that was being serviced by Ocwen and we made several attempts to refinance our loan. Their answer was we are not refinancing at this time. We continue to make payments until they became unbareable and we decided to let the house go. We first filed chapter 13 to try and save the house, but due the interest rate the payments were starting to consume most of our income.

We then decided to surrender the house we move out and found another place to live. Once they were notified that we had surrendered the house, they then began calling offering ways for us to keep it. The customer service people were so rude and had no sympathy for anyone. We were not looking for pitty, but we were trying to save our home in the beginning way before it got to the bankruptcy option.

Even though they knew the house had been surrendered they issued a hazard insurance policy on the house and they added the insurance to the balance on the house. The insurance they chose was more than double the amount we were paying for homeowners insurance. We received the policy in the mail even after we told them several times that we no longer occupied the residence. I have notified my bankruptcy lawyers office and I am making documentation of all calls/letters that we receive.
