Fraudulent Collection Attempt

Looks like I too have fallen victim to this so called collection agency.

Looks like somehow they obtained all of these so-called accounts as of the beginning of the year. How does that happen? Mine was dated as of the 16th of January.

My letter states they are making "another attempt" to contact me.in which, I have never received anything from AFNI, Verizon (formerly GTE). First of all, I have never owned a cell phone, hard to believe but true. And have never had a land line through either company. Says it is from Illinois, yes I did live there but have not been there in more than 10 years. Oh and it is not even in my correct last name.

I am not wasting my time with this company. I am going to file a complaint with my state's Consumer Protection Agency, file a complaint with the FTC, and any other agency I can think of. I have been through this before with Fingerhut. And demanding for validation does not always resolve the matter. They still come after you when they provide nothing to you and still report to the credit bureau's.

I think everyone that has received something from this company needs to give them some of their own medicine. We should all just file a class action lawsuit. Smear their name in the media. These companies get by with way too much.
