Sent us two bills for a numbers we never had

On 1-14-07 we recieved 2 bills from Afni collection stating we owed for a verizon bill. One bill is for $3554.81 the other is for $1925.38.

We have never had Verizon. So when I called I was put on hol;d for 45 minutes and was told that I have to send it in writing disputing the debt.

I have never had sopmething l;ike this happen to me before and would like some advice on how to handle it.
