Scamming company trys to rip-off another unsuspecting person

I was just going over my credit report when I came across a verizon collection for 369.00 reported in 12-06 I have been a verizion customer for over 5 years and know for a fact that I have no outstanding accounts, so I thought someone had stollen my identity. I tried to look up this Afrin collection agency and that is when I came across this website. Thank goodness or they would have tried to play me llike a sucker. Now my credit report has this big yucky untrue stain on it that will follow me around. Isn't there something we can do Isn't this fraud and isn't fraud illeagle punishable by jail time a fine and revoking a liscense. Shouldn't they have to pay us for the damage they have caused. If you know a lawyer in my area (spokane, WA) let me know cause I will take a stand and make sure company's like this don't rip anybody else off ever again.
