Business & Finance

I received letter from Century Financial Services/Tasha Pfifer stating she was the loan specialist assigned to the county I live, for adjustable rate mortgages.
I called, in search of a lower rate mortgage, due to our mortgage lender, AMC, would not work with us to catch up on our payment.

Century Financial could not refinance us, but offered the solution of a short sale. We went to their office to discuss this option. They stated that the parent company in SC had been in business for years. THey also had a BBB sign in the office.

The process was explained that they would first negotiate a lower pay off with our mortgage holders, and if they excepted, they would purchase the house, to be put on the market and sold within a time frame set by our mortgage lenders. We were told, that we would be out of the loop at that time and would not have to worry about our home. We were also told not to make any mortgage payments, that it would change the amount that was offered for negotions. We asked them before we left their office, what would happen if the house did not sell in time frame. We were told that it would have to or they would have to start making payments. We were also given an estimated closing date.

I was called and told by Tasha Pfifer that AMC did not except offer, but not to worry that our second holder key bank looked promsing. When Tasha called and told me Key accepted offer, I was releived. I asked her about the closing date, if I needed to get off work and how long we had to find another place to live. (which I had already asked on numerous phone conversations over the last several weeks), she stated that closing date had been extended and the end of the month would be fine to move out.

In the same phone call, I asked, how long they had to sell house, before they had to make payment, then that's when we learned the true process, That they did not buy house and at that point we only had 2 weeks before time frame assigned was up. My husband, Jeff, very upset that we had been lied to, went to their office to find out what was going on. He spoke with Owner, Jason Brown, of what we find out is call United Property Solutions, not Century Financial. Mr. Brown made it clear that they were separate company than Century FInancial, (but yet he uses Name to get customers, Century Name is on building, on top of all faxes). Mr. Brown told my husband that they would get a realtor, in our county, that day. He also said, he didn't know any of this was going on. Which is a lie because we were promised $6000 off the sell of the house, which had to be approved by him.
My husband told him to forget about the $6000, just to sell the house asap. A realtor never showed up, but FORECLOSURE papers did. I finally contacted Consumer Protection, BBB, Bank of Commision and the Main office of Century Financial in SC.

I spoke with SHawn Spivey and Brian Kirkman, at the SC office, to let them know, what was going on in their satellite office in Charlotte, NC. As soon as I hung up with them. Jason Brown from Charlotte called me and told me not to call them anymore, that they didn't have anything to do with his company. Needless to say, I thought United Property Solutions, was working Under them. He laughed and said he didn't know why I called bank of Commission, that he was not regulated by them.
After a week and calling back to SC several times, Mr. Brown and his brother Kevin, stated they would buy our home to make right his companies, wrong doing. He also asked us to call all the companies we complained to and tell them not to contact him. We told him that when sale was completed, we would then recant all omplaints.
Our foreclosure hearing was January 3. The public sale is schedule for January 25. Jason contacted me by email (I have copies of all emails) stating when closing date would be, when appraiser would be out etc...

The day before our foreclosure hearing, he emailed me and stated he could not get the funds to purchase our home. It had been 3 wks, since he stated he was buying our house. He had plenty of time to tell us he was unable to purchase.

So were probably going to lose house, unless something can be done. I have called numerous attorneys with no help. Either we were told to try bankruptsy or most lawyers would be too expensive to take the case, if that's the avenue we chose.

The reason we are so upset is we could have avoided this, if we were told the truth from the beginning and our home be purchased. Our lives have been ruined by following the rules and doing exactly what we were told to do.
