Ripoff Unauthorized electronic withdraw from bank account

My husband and I have used Century 21 Mortgage for 3 years now. The very first issue we had with them was before the closing on our home. We were required to get homeowners insurance to complete the closing. Century 21 Mortgage told us that they offered homeowners insurance and we opted to purchase through them. Weeks went by before we were told that we still did not have any coverage on our home to be. It was a week before our closing, so we called C21M to find out what was going on. It was then that they finally decided to tell us that they did not offer homeowners insurance in the state of Florida. That left us a week to find an insurance company and come up with roughly $700 for our premium. Talk about ticked off! That was just the beginning of our problems with this company. (Don't get me wrong. The real estate agent was wonderful. I never had any issues with Century 21 Realestate. Our agent told us that they would never recommend or use Century 21 Mortgage again. That's pretty bad when your own company won't even recommend you.)

Our most recent issue with this company was bad enough to report here. A few weeks ago, I mailed a paper check to C21M for our usual payment. About a week later, I called the bank and found out that they had taken out $360 more than the check was written for. My bank couldn't do anything about it, so my husband called the mortgage company. He was told that it would take 3-4 business days for them to contact us and tell us whether or not it was the mortgage company's mistake. After 5 days of no responses, I called them. They apologized and stated that they would refund the money plus any bank fees that my bank charged me. All they needed were my bank statements as proof of the transactions. I obtained the statements and faxed them to C21M along with a letter. (The total fees that they owe are $600, by the way.)

They called me today and left a message stating that they were sending a detailed letter along with my cancelled check. Well, my husband called them back to find out what was going on. They told him that they were not refunding us and they were not going to send a copy of the check that they supposedly have, after stating otherwise. So, I had to take off of work to dispute this through my bank. I strongly reccommend that anybody who is looking for a mortgage loan DO NOT go with Century 21 Mortgage.
