Ripoff Liars and Thieves

Let me start by saying, "I wish I had seen this site first!" I got ripped off by MGR Solutions. I was desperate to get my children into a home of our own and our of this little apartment but did not have the money down. I had heard of government grants and started looking on the internet. Stupidly, I filled out the questionnaire on MGR's website and they called me right away.

Mark Parker smoothed talked me and I told him I had to think about it. "WHAT is there to think about?!" But, I told him I would call him back and that wasn't good enough, he wanted to call ME back. (Gotta make sure he doesn't lose the sale) I asked for their policies to be emailed to me. Nothing came. He called and I said that I had to have that email from him. He did so quickly then. I sent out the money quickly to him and he couldn't wait for me to call with the tracking number, so he called me to get it. I received the packet two weeks later (I was promised it earlier of course).

Mark had told me that I would be getting a grant for $250,000 in 4-6 weeks and that the amount would be easy to get. It would be deposited into my account. If I was denied, I would get a letter from the government. I was also told that they would guarantee a $25,000 and they were holding it for me in my name.

So, I fill out this questionaire and send it back quickly with a listing of houses (my "homework") that I would buy with this grant. I spent months and so much time with realtors looking at houses that I would call home. I got my kids so excited about having a home finally.

When I called to check on the status after a month, I was transferred to Billy Waterhouse. He said that it would take 8 weeks to get the results back from the government and if I hadn't received any letter from the government in the 8 weeks, to call and speak with him. He said there wasn't any way for them to know if I had been denied otherwise.

At 8 weeks, I called Billy back. Guess what? No Billy! Robert Freeman was taking messages for him. And, I need to wait "9 weeks" to get a letter from the government. So, I waited and got ahold of Billy at 9 weeks. He says to wait 10 weeks. At 10 weeks, I called to complain and would you believe it? They got and EMAIL from the agency saying I had been denied. There's a shocker! So, Billy gave me dates of the second one being sent out and to count 8 weeks (saying that they have had luck with THIS one and they only take 8 weeks). I thought, okay. I will wait.

After waiting 9 weeks, I call to find that Billy is no longer with the company and Vicki says Robert Freeman is the new guy. Except, you can never speak to him. He is always in a meeting, just went home, or in the little boys room. Vicki says I can always call and speak to her because she just had my name with a list of others placed on her desk that are supposed to get a "letter" and it will look like it is coming from MGR. She wouldn't give me a clear answer on what it was. But, I thought I would wait and see. It had been 12 weeks time from the second proposal being sent out.

I did get a packet with a list of agencies where I can "apply" for pell grants, milk money and other crap. I know I didn't pay $450 for a schooling grant for me or milk money for my kids. Vicki told me to call her when I get it. I tried that, but she is all of a sudden, busy, in a meeting (they have those ALOT!) or just went home. I left a message with Ben Miller who was quite rude with me and I don't know why. Two weeks after not getting a return call, I called her back and she was in ANOTHER MEETING! So, was Robert Freeman. Strange how everytime I call, I only speak with two people who answer the phones. I called back a few minutes later after reading all of these reports on this site and Vicki answered even though she was supposed to be in a meeting for 45 minutes or more. She was quite rude with me and said they had just received the results from the second proposal. I said I didn't want to hear it, I was lied to, and I want a refund. She got extremely rude and transferred me back to Ben Miller. He gave me an email address where I can get a refund. I am not holding my breath that is for sure. But, I will tell you that I was originally told 4-6 weeks and it has been 6 months. I should not have sent them a cent as I do not have that kind of money and now have deprived my children of a Christmas due to my own stupidity. Oh yea, they are wondering when we are buying a home for them. I will do what I need to do to keep as many others from falling for this. It hurt me the most because of my kids. I have learned my lesson.
