Ripoff Trying to collect from a dead person I am NOT even related to!

I have been receiving phone calls at my home from this agency for a person who does not even reside with me, nor do I have any relationship to. This agency has called me numerous times and several of those times I was hung up on by this agency, despite trying to explain to them the person they are calling for is dead and is a prior resident.

I am an entirely separate and unrelated resident (in an entirely different apartment, but same building) at the same number and have had to put up with their calls.in the meantime, this agency has revealed to me that the dead person's account was with US Cellular (violation of Fair Debt Collection Law?) and has even demanded a death certificate, from me, for this other person even though I have no relationship to her whatsoever!!! I don't even get mail for her here.

The fact they continue to call me despite knowing of this person's death makes me question whether there is a scam in progress. I really don't want to have to change the number to get them the shut up and leave me alone. So instead, I am strongly considering the authorities, and the media, including this website.

Apparently, being dead is not enough for these vultures. I will cease and desist them and suggest perhaps they might reach her at a cemetery somewhere.
