Humiliated, defamed character, embarrassed me ripoff

On Nov 26 I was trying to purchase dog food at a store that I frequent about twice a month and my check was refused by telecheck. Code 3 was the refusal and when I called the number of the slip of paper I got a vauge explination and the computer hung up. I purchased dog food 17 days earlier (this transaction went through) and still had the cancelled check in my purse so I called the cust service # on the back of that check and got a person but the same vauge explanation. They did admit that I have never written a bad check. I am frozen from using a check at their 272,000 mercants for 6 days.
I have called Telecheck several times and they don't care how humiliated I am (I was with friends) and that I feel I can't go back into the store again I am so embarrassed. I wonder if their 272,000 merchants realize how this can affect their business.
I really think that someting should be done it appears that I am not the only one this has happend to and it all seem to be a little fishy. Telecheck will not even talk to you unless you give them your check routing number and bank acct# and to me that was a real invasion of my privacy. Not only did they humiliate me in public in front of my friends but now to talk to them I must give private info, who's to say the will not go into my acct they have all the numbers and my signature from other transactions.
