This company made a settlement with me on 3 (of 5) collections. The lady said that all 3 items would be deleted from my credit report within 45 days after i paid the settled amount. I paid it immediatly by phone. The items were updated as paid but not deleted as promised. This was the first lie.

I called back about a month later and got transfered to a suprivisor, I told her that the promise of deletion had not been fullfilled. She laughed at me!"she said why would they tell you that? We cant delete items." I said " they did, thats the only reason i gave them them money, AND it was recorded". She stopped laughing and looked up all 5 accounts. She said she deleted 2 items during this call and the other three would be deleted after i mail them a copy of my credit report. This call had multiple lies in it. I have to check my report again next month to see if the performed the deletions this time.

Deceptive billing practices! I read that nco has the record for having to pay the largest settlement fine on record for this kind of stuff. Supposedly, they intentionaly violated the fcra right so many times that the standard fine of 1,000.00 was increased to 2,500.00 per violation. Perhaps thats why they were so willing to just erase the items after they knew i had proof they they were doing wrong. For a company that cant delete items to delete All of them 5 minutes later, sounds like the fear of another fcra fine was the deal closer!
