Ripoff I almost made my family homeless by spending our bill money

I received a call from Marcus Powell. He claimed that they had found a lender in Canada who was willing to give me a secured loan.

He briefly told me it would be for $5,000.00 @ 6% Interest. I told him to fax the papers to me and I would look them over. When I received them it mentioned the pre-payment of 6 monthly payments (totalling $900.17).
So, I called Marcus back (phone prompt sounded so professional) and asked him to define the pre-payment terms. He stated that since my credit is poor, the lender, a private citizen in Canada would loan me the money if I could pay the first six monthly payments in advance.

I told Marcus that I could send my bill money if assured the loan would be released to me quickly. Marcus assured me that once I sent the money ($900.17) via "Moneygram"
they would deposit the funds into my account. This all happened on Friday, October 13. I explained to Marcus that I would be paid the following Monday and would wire the money that day. Friday night I told my husband about the offer and he suggested we look up the company, Fairview Lending on the BBB website. Well, obviously no such company is listed in Bethesda. Additionally it only took us about 5 minutes to find similar stories on this website. GOD, THANK YOU SO MUCH "usacomplaints.com" and people who shared their stories. I can't tell you how catastrophic it would have been had I sent my entire paycheck to these LOWLIFES!!!
