Academy Collection Service ripoff Illegally trying to collect on a debt being paid on to another company currently

This stupid company is continuously contacting me regarding an old debt that is being paid on currently to another (truly legit) collection agency. I have asked them to stop harassing me with phone calls stating that they cannot collect on a debt that is BEING collected, especially by another company. How do I go about getting them to leave me alone? These people that work at this company must be hand-picked from one of the levels of Hell. They have threatened to ruin my credit by putting the debt as a "refusal to pay" and etc with the credit reporting agencies.

I've admittedly been bad with money in the past, but I am honestly working hard at getting back on my feet and clearing my bad credit... I'm finally making real progress toward this and now these idiots are threatening to smear me for something that is being paid on through legit channels.

What do I need to do to make them go away and keep my credit from being ruined further? I planned to write a cease & desist following the last evil conversation I had most recently, but a friend told me I needed to be more heavy handed than that with these nuts. Can SOMEONE help? I would LOVE to be in on a class action against these losers.

Where do I start so I can stop the calls and halt any negative action being taken against my credit? They seem quite scheisty because once I screwed up and told them the debt was being paid on they wanted to know what company I was paying and a hundred other answers to questions that were none of their business. I put two and two together (hopefully not too late) and have ceased picking up the phone each time they have called since. Their messages are getting more demanding and malicious with each day. Do I have any recourse against this mess? Help please!
