Ripoff sounds like a scam

I got a call around 8:00pm one night from a man who said he was from luebke baker & associates. He said he was trying to collect a debt from me dealing with some mag. Company (publishers service of tampa). He went on saying i owe 301.90 but the company would settle out with 106.60.

I said i did not recall that i owe this mag. Company. He said this was back in 1998. I said why now im being told this? He said that they had just now found me. He said i could make the payment over the phone. I told him i do not give out that information over the phone and i do not believe i owe this. He said well you did make 29 payments before you stop paying.

I said if i owe this fine but i want to see this in writting. Two weeks later i got a payment slip. I started looking on the internet to see if this company was real and found out it was a scam. My friend said it was suspicious that after 8 years i would get a call about this matter. I have been a victim before and i am not a victim anymore.
