Ripoff

Eceived collection notice that my deceased husband owed $860.66, however, if they received a check within a few days, they would settle for $387.30. My beloved husband never dismissed a bill and our credit was excellent.

I called the 800 number and they just dismissed the claim and said that it was addressed incorrectly, however, i wonder how many people are enticed by settling for less than half of an unknown bill and just send a check. If it were not for the fact that my late husband was so diligent about paying his debts I might have been coerced into sending a check in order to save money.
