Ripoff consumer rip-off fraud or Carson City, NV or Nevada

I found out that Advantage Capital had debited $159.90 from my checking account on 4/8/02. I was also charges $110 in bank NSF Fees because this debit had made my account negative. I called the number that the bank gave me, 1-866-416-0668. I was told that they contacted me on 3/19/02 and spoke with me at 610-933-6983. As soon as I was told this, red flags went up all over the place. On the date they called, myself and my son were both sick with eye infections and I had the flu to top it off, so I was between both doctors' offices all day. Second, the number that they called is a number in my household but it strictly used for my computer modem and there is no phone attached. This was a major problem. After calling on several occassions, I found out that they tape all phone calls. I was told that I could write to the Corporate office in Carson City, Nevada and request a copy of the tape. I did so on 4/11 and to date, still no response. I was then told that in order to receive a refund, that I would need to send them a copy of my bank statement showing the charges and any fees that resulted because of the charge. I wasn't sure why I needed to send that because they had already got my information somehow without my permission. I reluctantly sent them a copy of the statement on 5/4, requesting a refund and to date, still no response. You can never get a person on the phone at the customer service department, they are always experiencing a large volume of calls and tell you to leave a message and that someone will get back to you. Needless to say, nobody ever calls back. I found out that the Customer Service department is located in Waco, Tx and that the company is really located in Beverly Hills Florida. I have gotten nothing but the run around from these people, they will not refund the $269.90. I have reported them to the BBB of Nevada, Nevada Consumer Affairs, the FTC, the FCC, the BBB of Central Florida. Also have filled out a few scam reports on different websites like this one. I also found a Consumer Complaint website where 32 other people have posted similar stories about this company. We need to find them and put them out of business. They have caused me headaches from day one. I later learned that they have a bunch of sister companies that they pass your information to as well including your bank information, allowing the other companies to debit your account. We need to get rid of this type of company. It is not fair to me or to any other person that gets ripped of as well. Stay away from advantage capital. MelissaPhoenixville, Pennsylvania
