Unsolicited sales calls to try to trick you - Beware!

I received an unsolicited call from Capital (aka American) Financial today. Busy little scam artists, aren't they.

I picked up the call without looking at the caller id (which showed the number 866-538-7581 as a previous poster noted) and was told I was approved for a "Capital Financial Line of Credit" and to hold for an operator.

I held, because I knew it was a rip-off and I wanted them to stop the calls.

"Mike" picked up the call and said "American Financial". I said "I thought this was Capitial Financial." He said "No, you must have misunderstood." Then he went into his sales pitch.

I cut him off cold. I said "I have never heard of American Financial, Capital Financial and you offer sounds like a con and not a legitimate credit offer." He became beligerent and started sputtering about rebuilding my credit. I shot back "This will ruin my credit. I'm not interested so stop calling me!" and I slammed down the phone.

If you receive a call from the number "866-538-7581", return it only to tell them never to call you again!
