Unauthorized charge, bad customer service ripoff

I really wish I knew about this site a few years back. Back in December of I applied for a card through USA credit. I was a first year college student, my bank account had a balance of about $10 and I needed to purchase things for school, even though my first paycheck wouldn't be in until a month later!

I knew that I could pay off a credit card with the pay I was earning. Well, long story short, I received a notice from my bank that $149.95 had been taken from my account, that I had overdrawn, and that I would be charged a $31.52 overdraft fee. I looked at my statement online and lo-and-behold, a phone number!
I talked to the woman on the other line and said that I had not authorized a charge, that I only entered my bank information to see if I was qualified.

She directed me to a website where I could read about the charge. Satisfied, I hung up.

I received the card in the mail, much to my confusion, two days later.

I read the agreement and saw that I had 30 days with which to send back the card and receive a refund.

When I called customer service, the woman on the other line kept asking me a load of questions, saying that she had to report it to the credit bureau and how it would hurt my credit and everything else. I answered the questions and just kept telling her, "I want to cancel." even though she kept begging me to stay on board.

As I kept answering questions, she kept switching between putting me on hold and asking me more questions. When asked to speak to a supervisor, she put me "on hold"; in other words, she hung up on me.

I called back like an idiot for the next few weeks, and when the 30 days were over just gave up. I was out over $170 and all I had was a card I couldn't even use.

It's not a credit card like you think it is. This is a tried and true rip off. If you don't believe me, just ask me for a copy of the charges on my bank statement.
