Fradulent NSF ripoff fees

I set up automatic payments to two individuals through online banking at Compass Bank, at which I have a checking account. I specifically set up the payment to be for a certain date so that my paycheck would be deposited in time to cover the payment. One payment for $146 was set for the 30th and the other payment, $800 was set for the next month on the 7th. Compass Bank sent out the $800 payment check with a date of the 6th. Consequently the individual deposited the check which presented to my bank before my paycheck had been deposited. I have been charged at least six NSF fees of $36 and probably will be charged more. How can they do this when I specifically requested a payment date that was different than the one they put on the check.interestingly enough, both checks hit my bank at the same time. I have complained to them that it was there fault that there were not sufficient funds to cover the $800 check, but I doubt I will get anywhere with them. Over the course of less than a year, I have been charged nearly $1000 due to their "unique" form of accounting.
