Bait and switch! SAFECO is a ripoff! Solon Ohio

I ordered car insurance through Insurance.com with SAFECO as they came back with a decent quote. Shortly before this I read on the internet somewhere that they had pulled this same scam with someone else but I thought it a fluke so read on.

My wife and I have had no accidents, tickets, etc. For years. We have one car we share. Our premiums had gone up a bit with our other company so we decided to shop around.

After we bought with Safeco. They sent us a policy number, had us approve forms, etc. Then just a couple of days before the policy is to take effect I get an e-mail (not even the courtesy of a phone call to tell me) to call them to verify info.

When I do this they tell me that oh, the quote was not for adding on your wife. Huh? I filled out my wife's name. You idiots read it, and I even printed out YOUR policy with her name on it. Keep in mind she has an excellent record. Never any violations, accidents, etc.

They try to blame it on the insurance.com system saying it wasn't included. I'm not buying that crap. They gave me the new quote which was almost doubled. I of course cancelled it right away but they still have not credited my credit card. I had to call my credit card company and file a dispute against it to get a credit.

I would avoid this company like the plague!
