Ripoff Sabotaged Closing of My House No Way Now to Avoid Foreclosure

After losing my job in December I put my house on the market and moved out. I was able to secure a buyer for it in May.in the meantime I am getting all these nasty collection letters from the primary mortager and Beneficial (WHAT part of UNEMPLOYED do they NOT understand?).

On June 2 I get a letter from Beneficial stating that even though they no longer have a lien against my property, I still owe what is on the contract. I fax the letter to the closing attorneys. Then, out of the blue and only 72 hours before the closing I get a panicked call from my realtors telling me I have to bring $18,000 to the closing, as it turns out Beneficial STILL has a lien against my house and I am facing a Short Sell because I owe more money than what it is worth.

Instead of closing, I spend ALL day long on the phone, faxing, calling and overnighting documents to Beneficial's foreclosure department. I follow up with multiple phone calls, trying to find out if they are going to remove this lien, only to be told by the person (s) taking my call that I will have to talk to Areley, because she is the ONLY one who can give me an answer. So I call and call, leaving messages.

Finally at 10:00 AM this morning, the day of the rescheduled closing she calls me and informs me very coldly: "I don't have all the documents I requested and EVEN if I did, it will take me TWO weeks to process this request". I calmly try to remind her (and she has already been TOLD via fax, letter and voice messages) that the primary mortgager is foreclosing on July 5th, and I HAVE to close TODAY. Her attitude was basically tough s*, and now I am

RUINED, with NO way to pay off either mortgage because the buyers have flown the coop.

Stay away from beneficial. They are more crooked than a dog's hind leg!
