The company I work for sent out an email to all employees at the end of 2005 stating the benefits of signing up for 'flexible spending accounts' for daycare and medical bills. I reviewed the information and decided to enroll.
The benefit of the program is more take home pay. The money I allocated per paycheck would be deducted from my pay, before taxes and the reimbursed to me after I submit the claim. So, every other week I receive one regular pay check and another from Key Family.

I submitted the paperwork indicating how much per week I spend for day care. The first week of January I paid the daycare and got the receipt, went to work and submitted the claim via fax with the form I was provided with. I have to submit a form with every claim.
Well, weeks go by and no pay check. I call and they let me know it 'takes a while' to process. So the middle of February I finally get my first check. I think its ok, things are rolling now. I continue to submit my claims.
I receive one check in March for half of what it should be and the next check is for three weeks. The lady at Key Family says she will print out a complete report on my claims and what they reimbursed me and how much they owe me and fax it to me at work, never got that fax.
I try to talk to someone from our ESD about it and they have their head somewhere and couldnt understand how to help me. I cannot cancel my 'subscription' until the end of the year. If I get married, change jobs, or have another child I can change the allocated money. None of that is going to be happening. And even if I changed it to one dollar a week, I wouldnt be able to claim the rest of the money on my taxes.By the way if I dont enter enough claims to cover all my allocated money by the end of the year I LOSE IT!

In April my check doesnt come so I call and they tell me on my claim they are looking at they think my 4 is a 9, like I am submitting a claim for September in April. So they get my check to me on my next pay day but I still went without for two weeks. So then I get a letter last Saturday saying they have a discrepency on my claim. I called today, Monday, I get paid Friday and correct their discrepency. I ask will my check make it on time? They say, I dont know, wait and see. So, I may be out my money another two weeks.

They have my daytime number, its on the form, and ask me for it for confirmation when I call to complain. Why couldnt they call me when they have a discrepency? Not send a letter that is going to get there too late for me to get MY money. The money comes out of my check every time, but I dont get it back.
