Ripoff, Rude, Inconsiderate Collection Agency

I recieved a phone call for the first time today from IC Systems concerning a Past Due Sprint bill of $166.50. I spoke to a Yvonn. She said they sent me a letter in the mail (which I never recieved) and wanted me to pay my account in full over the phone. I told her I have no way to pay it over the phone, I dont have a credit card or a bank account (I pay for everything with cash so this doesnt happen).

I told her I would have to send a money order. She started to get smart with me and started raising her voice and saying that I refused to pay the debt and that she was going to mark it as a refusal and it was going to go on my credit report. She said obviously you dont care about your credit. I have a clean credit report with no debts on it at all and I dont owe any money to anyone other than this sprint bill.

The reason I havent paid it is because there was a dispute on my account for some charges that were incorrect after I cancelled it. Sprint fixed them and I was going to pay my bill at the end of this month. I tried to explain that to her and she got even more rude and hostile. I told her that I have never in my life had someone speak to me with such disrespect before.

She told me that the end of the month was not soon enough and that I had to pay the bill off by monday (today is wednesday) or it would go on my credit report. I took down the information to send a moneygram to pay it. When I got off the phone I was almost in tears because of the way she spoke to me.

I then decided to call back and ask if I could speak to a supervior regarding the matter and I was told I had no right to speak to a supervior until I paid off my debt in full. The lady told me that this was a collection agency not a customer service department and that I was the one with the problem and was irresponsible because I didnt pay my debt. She asked who I thought I thought I was to call in there to complain. I told her I didnt want to discuss it with her I just wanted to speak to a supervisor.

She then asked me if I had a job and I said yes. She said well dont you get a pay check? I said yes and she said then why cant you pay your bill? I told her I was a single mother and that I wouldnt be able to have the money until the end of the month. She said well we all have children whats your point? She was extremely rude and hostile. She told me not to bother calling back and wasting their time until I could pay my debt off and that if I didnt pay it by monday she was marking it as a refusal. She then said im disconnecting this call now and hung up on me.

Needless to say, after reading all these reports and the way this was handled I WILL NOT be sending my money to this company to pay off the debt. I am going to pay directly to Sprint. I have never seen a collection agency run this way before. It makes you question if they are really legitamate.
